History and description
Silkeborg Ry Golfklub is known to have one of the finest golf courses in Denmark and has been hosting DIAC since year 2000.
In addition Silkeborg Ry Golfklub was chosen to host the EGA European Amateur Team Championships 2013,
and the PGA European Tour event "Made in Denmark" 2018.
In 2022 the championship course was voted the best course in Denmark by 'Golfmagasinet'.
Silkeborg Ry Golfklub has 27 holes. The championship course is South-West. This is the original course dated back to 1967.
In 1999 Thomas Bjørn designed new holes #15 and #16 to replace the original #15 and #16, which caused a bad playing flow.
In 2007-2008 Silkeborg Ry Golfklub added 9 holes to the course and holes #3 and #4 were added to replace the original #1 and #2.
The remaining 14 holes are more or less unchanged.
In recent years all greens, bunkers, tee boxes and paths have been renovated and leave the course in mint condition.
The 2nd of April 2013 the original Silkeborg Golf Club made a fusion with Kildebjerg Ry Golfklub hence changing name to Silkeborg Ry Golfklub. The 27 holes in Kildebjerg Ry are not in play at DIAC.
